Are you experiencing neck pain? We can help.

Neck Pain

Neck pain affects around two thirds of the population at some point in their lives and affects women more commonly than men.

It is one of the most common reasons we see people for treatment at our clinic in Diss.

In our clinical assessment, we will aim to look at what has caused you the neck pain, what needs to be done to reduce your pain levels and then draw up a plan of management to help you reduce the chance of future episodes.

A typical plan of management will usually involve some hands-on treatment, lifestyle advice and physical rehabilitation.

Many of our patients experiencing neck pain report persistent dull, achy discomfort in the neck and upper shoulders, coupled with restricted head mobility. They often suffer from related issues, including constant headaches, shoulder and upper back pain, facial pain, and in severe cases, arm pain accompanied by numbness and tingling. These symptoms typically stem from nerve or muscle irritation in the neck area.

What we do to treat neck pain

Neck pain is found more commonly in people with an existing history of it, mental health problems (such as anxiety and depression), smoking, obesity and high-demand jobs.

The advice we offer our patients who are suffering from neck pain will depend on what risk factors we feel are relevant to them.

Our pain management plan will likely involve some form of hands-on treatment (such as spinal manipulation or joint mobilisation), paired with physical rehabilitation to improve the tolerance of the neck to your daily demands.

Whatever treatment or advice we give at Diss Chiropractic Clinic will be specific to you, based on your case history, physical condition and your overall goal for recovery.
