A holistic approach to healing

Self management and lifestyle advice

There are many factors embedded in our lifestyles and environment that can increase the likelihood of experiencing symptoms such as back pain.

Whether it is simply that you’re not exercising enough (or exercising too much!) or that your stress levels are very high for a sustained period of time, the way we live our lives can have a huge impact on our chances of suffering musculoskeletal pain.

Research has shown links between the prevalence of back pain and obesity, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, quality and quantity of sleep, and the type of work that you do.

At Diss Chiropractic Clinic we aim to look at you as a person and not simply a collection of symptoms.

This enables us to not only reduce your pain now but to give you realistic ways of managing your symptoms more effectively in the future as well.

Our Treatments

Medical Acupuncture/Dry Needling reduces pain and inflammation by inserting needles into muscle trigger points, often enhanced with physical rehabilitation.

Exercise Therapy encompasses various physical rehabilitation forms, from general advice to specific programs, effectively treating musculoskeletal pain, tailored to patients’ abilities and goals for progression.

Spinal manipulative therapy applies quick force to joints, not to realign, but to desensitise areas for improved movement and reduced pain. It’s most effective when combined with personalised physical rehabilitation.

If your chiropractor deems it necessary, they may refer you to your GP or for scans like ultrasounds or MRIs, either before or alongside your treatment plan. This helps tailor your care effectively to ensure you receive the most appropriate treatment.
